Avril 14th - Terravita Drumstep Remix

You see those studs in the picture? That's Terravita and they want one thing. To destroy your ears and possibly all that you love. They're one step closer too, with a brand new remix of 'Avril 14th' by the infamous and disturbing mastermind Aphex Twin. The music video for 'Come To Daddy' still haunts my nightmares. Anyhow, Terravita gave this the full bass treatment, it's a killer drumstep remix with a seamless intro for any of you who are as obsessed with transitions as me during sets.
The greatest thing about this mindmelting track? It's free, courtesy of Subhuman Records. Definitely give it a listen, amazing work and a gold star example of the sinister basslines and flawless composition that first ignited my romance with Terravita's music. Make sure you check out Terravita on their Facebook for the download link and for more free tracks and of course to find concert dates so you can have your face obliterated in person!

What am I seeing?

Thanks everyone for the great amount love and support you've given us since we've started, we were just able to hit almost 550 views per day, and because of this we have decided to expand even more. Part of this expansion requires us to revert back to our original, old blog, and so if you are confused, that's what you're seeing. However, we do not plan to stay like this for a long period of time; our current plan should let us change back to our newer blog within a week. Sorry for any inconveniences. Enjoy the blog, we have many more posts that you should be expecting soon!

Height of The Night

Evening/morning/noon (really depends on where you are) I have a special treat for you from one of my absolute favorite artists. His name is 3Lau the monster masher and you may have heard of him elsewhere and I'd hope so. He's the resident house DJ at Fratmusic.com and he's become a bit of a legend after releasing his debut album 'Dance Floor Filth' earlier this year and becoming totally viral in the blogosphere. Rightly so too - his osund is MASSIVE, the first time I heard his album I was totally shocked and filled with that uplifting feeling that only a really good song can give you.
As a veteran of EDM I can tell you for a fact that his 'Dance Floor Filth' album includes the best mashups I've ever heard. Luckily for me, and all of you, he's cooked up a megamix that will make your feet bleed for sure. I've also got a couple of my other favorite songs from 3Lau, be sure to check him out on Facebook, soundcloud, and Fratmusic.com!

RAGERS VOL. ~DOS~

How long has it been since you smashed your head through the trunk of an elm tree, causing it to shatter into a near lifetime supply of toothpicks that you collected and use to this day? Well it's probably been three days for me but that's far too long in the world of EDM. Thusly I present volume the second of RAGERS to get you in that unfamiliar mood of wanting to chomp through a boulder with your bare teeth. The selection this time was careful but together these ragers make a delicious recipe for disaster.
Please note that I'm NOT responsible for the inevitable destruction of your home upon hearing these. Remember, if you like what you hear check out other tracks and albums by Cyberpunkers, Silvijo Zylfi, Chuckie, Hardwell, Mustard Pimp, and R3hab on soundcloud and on their respective Facebook fanpages!

The Ripper Clip

Will he ever stop? Will he ever relent? Will Halloween ever be over for him? Could he be any more talented? These are questions about our mysterious drum-god Figure that will probably never be answered, but every time I here one of his haunting and exciting tracks I find myself asking the very same questions. He just dropped a clip of the single 'Jack The Ripper' themed around the iconic killer, and I had to share it.
The track is a collab with Bare that I remember hearing about in early October and I anticipated the release for a bit but it seems it was being saved for later - you can only release so many amazing tracks in one month you know. The other track that I heard about was 'Thing From The Black Lagoon' but it was reportedly lost in some sort of computer mishap - nevertheless Figure apparently plans on recreating the track which was also a collab though I'm unsure who with.
Anyhow, if anyone still has their Halloween costume, I invite you to don it once more and rage to what is sure to be a killer track - the pun wasn't initially intended.

So I bring my generosity here, to you. More free music to munch on and it's an eclectic selection of classic treats and some newer stuff.

ZEDD

Ok so I don't know who among you hasn't heard of Zedd but we're huge fans and after all the work he's been doing lately I thought it was high time I share the man's genius with you. Zedd is a brilliant electrohouse DJ and producer, the protege of both Skrillex and Deadmau5 and he went more or less unnoticed until he released his recent single 'Shave It' - a track that proved he's more than capable of standing among his teachers in the EDM pantheon. He's got a very very unique sound, it's really evident in everything he does. Whether it's that electrifying bounce of his original mixes or that completely recognizable synthe he uses for his remixes, you can smell Zedd a mile away and it's a fantastic smell at that. He's been getting alot of attention after releasing 'Shave It' especially in the blog world and I wanted to share what he's been doing.
I've got 'Shave It' of course, as well as 'Scorpion Move' which is his very first dubstep track and I actually kinda like it to be honest. I've also got his most recent single 'Stars Come Out' which is probably my favorite of the three. The vocals from Heather Bright are impeccable and the beat is zombifying. Don't listen to these all in one sitting kids, our blog isn't going to be responsible for any adverse effects brought about by the inevitable raging you will do.

Whenever you wake up from the catatonia I assume these ragers hurled you into mercilessly make sure to find Zedd and give him the support he deserves and check out Sazon Booya too, he's a moombah master. Much love everybody.

Grant Sergoyan

Alright, to follow up my Thanksgiving post, I've got some fresh blood to offer you beat-sharks. The name is Grant Sergoyan, and he's got some real talent to be tapped into. I liken him to Avicii or Basto and you can hear the similarities really clearly, he has those same pianoesque synthes and progressive structure. What blows my mind is that he's started defining this sound for himself after only 6 months of being a producer and even more insane is that he's only 16 years old!
Glad we found him so early in his career, and I'm glad I'm getting to share him with all of you guys. Be sure to check him out and give him that startup support he deserves, in a few years when he's headlining Tomorrowland, Moogfest, and ID fest, it'll be pretty sweet to say you heard him first.

Thankful For Bass

It's been a huge year in EDM. The fanbase (you lovely people) has grown, the music has been innovated a dozen times, and new artists have come forward to take their places at the turntables. It's Thanksgiving day here in America and in true tradition I think I should share all that I've been thankful for this past year, and spread the Thanksgiving vibes to our international viewers at the same time.
Here I've got a selection of some of my favorite tracks from the past year so you can wobble while you gobble, so if anyone other than me has survived the post Thanksgiving coma I hope you really enjoy the tracks.

Weird Science

Well I've recently been able to get in touch with DJ Santero, who until now was somehow under my seemingly infinite radar. I'll tell you up front that I regret that because what I've heard so far is great. I'm going to be talking about his new label 'Weird Science' which was started by him and Pete Jordan. The reason behind the project is that both of them were fed up with being signed to other labels and having their music put on the back burner forever, so they've started their own to control when things are released which is really important. Electronic music is constantly being innovated and moving forward, every song is another step forward and the sooner it's released the faster it grows so I'm really glad, and I hope to definitely see more stuff like this happening and seeing Weird Science make alot of big steps forward in the coming year.
The label will mostly focus on bass driven house music, much like Santero's own stuff (but that will expand to other genres as the label grows), and right now most of the releases are from Jordan and Santero and remixes coming out soon. Artists that can be expected to be doing these remixes are The Elementz who are behind some really great work on Mad Decent as well as Ursa Major of Trouble and Bass. The remixers are also going to be the ones who DJ at Weird Science events.
These events so far have been getting a whole lot of attention, all of them packed. The third is going to be going down Saturday December 10th at 93 Feet East, Brick Lane E1 (London) from 6pm till 1am. Free entry and BBQ happening in the courtyard and food all night. The parties have had themes of 80's cult films so far and this next one will be Gremlins by the looks of it, and the movie will be showing in room two - everywhere else will be too devastated by the bass that the lineup is going to be tossing around. The DJ's for the night are going to be Jordan & Santero joined by The Elementz, followed by a slew of artists from SHELTERED starting at 7:30 and carrying on until 1am.

The event page for the upcoming Weird Science throwdown is right here:

You can follow Weird Science here: https://www.facebook.com/scienceweird

I've got a video clip via youtube of the new release Cali Blues right here too, so be sure to check that out. Also look for Cali Pinks!

Well, now that I've covered everything you'd need to know about the new label - how about I share some of what it'll sound like? I've got 5 tracks, all of them are great chill party jams. Included is the promo mix of Sexy Mofo as well as the clean cut and the super dub cut. If you like what you hear check out  Jordan & Santero here: https://www.facebook.com/jordanandsantero

Get Out Of Jail Free Series by Santero

And lastly, here are a few tracks from Santero, Pete Jordan, and a short mix by The Elementz featuring Hudson Mohawke, Diamond Bass, and if I'm not mistaken I think Blue Effect, whom I haven't heard in some time. Excellent chill-bass, perfect for parties or just driving around. Keep your eyes out for releases from these guys and make sure to check everyone out on Facebook to show them some love for all of the brilliant music and hard work.

Mothership Has Arrived

Finally, without further ado, we've got two full high def videos of Skrillex playing live at the Longbranch. It's a good opportunity for those of you who can't visit the tour to see his new awe-inspiring stage setup, The Cell - outfitted by the same folks who prepared Daft Punk's pyramid, Wolfgang Gartner's Medusa and Deadmau5's expert griefing machine, The Cell uses high tech sensors to display Skrillex's movement on an enormous LED screen behind him.
Skrillex was down in the South in early October on his Mothership Tour, and needless to say he did not disappoint. The set was incredible, ranging from  classics like Cinema and Equinox to treating the crowd to Breakn a Sweat (which hadn't been released at the time of the show) and a little bit of Bob Marley thrown in there as well.  Overall, a solid concert, and I would highly recommend seeing his show.  At the jumps we've got Skrillex opening the show with Right Here, and we've got a full-length video of Promises. Enjoy.

MOTHERSHIP: INCOMING

Pardon the delay, but we finally have footage and pictures from a Skrillex show that one of our writers had the chance to attend this past October. It was an absolute killer of a concert, and Skrillex played many fresh and classic tracks throughout the night. Footage of full songs and clips to come soon, but for now enjoy this small glimpse into the very heart of the Cell.

Moar Figure

Figure's back from the grave with a brand new banger he's pieced together during his tour of horror. Using every spare moment for production and after/during shows he's slowly perfected 'Dominate' - and much like his other tracks it's aptly named. The bassline will enslave you and the synthes have that same crunchy feel I've grown to expect from Figure. It's really interesting actually because the bpm changes at least 5 times throughout the song but it still feels complete and uniform. Interesting track, instant rager.
I've also got a track he finished a few weeks back, towards the end of his monster spree in October called 'You're Dead'. It's originally by Fast Foot and the notorious MC Cyanide but Figure does it up lethal with some vicious drums.
You guys enjoy and check out Figure on his Facebook page or his website, imfigure.net to show him some support.

Play Me Playpack

Just to make sure there are no survivors after that last post - I present you some PLAY ME treats. PLAY ME records is easily one of the best dubstep record labels around right now, owned and managed by Reid Speed who also produces and DJ's herself (basically she's a bass-born wiz-kid), and has signed some of my very favorite artists.
Today I've got Reid Speed's latest megamix 'Blast Off' which is this eclectic mix of old school jungle and drum & bass with more modern drumstep to create a kind of history lesson for those of you new to D&B. It has some serious classics and some serious bangers from only just recently - exquisite work.
To compliment that I have Tim Ismag's new EP that he's handing out for free. I'm a huge fan of Ismag, he's only recently caught my eye with his last EP. He has a very unique sound, super funky and super hard. Pay attention to this guy because he'll be huge! Make sure to check out Tim Ismag, Reid Speed, and PLAY ME records on Facebook and make them all feel super special!

WETWARE

Hey kids, I know you're chomping at the bit for some killer dubstep right now, but look no further - I bear gifts of the one man wub factory that is Liquid Stranger. He's unbelievable, one part machine, one part raver, and one hundred percent flawless.
I've been following EDM for a while now but when I began my only interests were electro, house, and some disco. Dubstep was not a part of my oh so important musical diet, it didn't appeal. Then I was introduced to Liquid Stranger and Ajapai. The first dubstep song I heard that I responded to was 'Bully' by Liquid Stranger which was quickly followed by 'Get Down Lay Down' by Ajapai. Total classics - I felt like my brain had been put in a blender. So fond the memories...
Anyhow, Liquid has recently released an opus of robotic devastation - his 'Mechanoid Mixdown' megamix, basically an hour and five minutes of my computer disassembling and reprogramming my skull to rage like never before is how I remember it. And in honor of reaching 10k fans, he dropped his 'Wetware Warfare' EP for free - to get the tracks you just have to like his fanpage on Facebook which can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/liquidstranger?ref=ts
We have a free downloadable preview of the EP here anyhow - it's a mashup that samples the mechanical monsters on his EP. I hope everyone really enjoys, be sure to check out liquid stranger on Facebook if you haven't already!

Kavinsky

It's one of those days where the only thing that feels right is the 80's, and no one does the 80's better than my favorite house zombie - Kavinsky. I've got one of my favorite remixes of his hit 'Nightcall' which was featured recently as the theme of the movie 'Drive'. His music has been featured in numerous video games and he was the opening act for Justice during their legendary Cross Tour. I've also included a solid mashup of his track 'Dead Cruiser' and some Wiz Khalifa for a perfect driving tune.

And for those of you who aren't quite in love with the blast-from-the-past sound of Kavinsky, I've got a couple of more obscure dubstep remixes from a couple of rising stars that I'm following. Hope everyone enjoys! Make sure to find Kavinsky on facebook and see if you can encourage him to make more music - it's been too long!!!

CRYPTEX

Alright, this one is for the glitch-lovers. A while back I was introduced to Cryptex, a young west coast glitchgod, via facebook and I fell in love. His isolated incidents EP has just recently been released and it's lethal in every sense of the word. Allow me to share some of my favorite Cryptex bangers, and make sure to check him out on Facebook and share his beauty with everyone you've ever made eye contact with.

Zombie Disco

Well, I've been scouring the web for the musical sloppy seconds of Halloween and I found a handful of tracks that slipped by me before all hallows eve was upon us. In particular though I discovered this rotting banger on youtube and it absolutely slays compared to the other post Halloween mixes.
The creator of the track, Rogue, is more or less obscure and I have no clue how. The track features samples from the Call of Duty franchise's 'Nazi Zombies' game mode and has this groovy feel and a horde of unstoppable wobbles. It makes me think of Madeon and maybe Knife Party? The sounds are just too unique for comparison. It's an eclectic mix of nu disco and dubstep with an eerie bassline. I'll be dropping this at parties all year, not just Halloween.
I've also included the 'Happy Heliween' mix by Helicopter Showdown that they released for Halloween. It's a dubstep mix and a killer one at that. Anyhow, show Rogue and Helicopter Showdown some love by finding them on facebook and sharing their music!!

THE WONDER EP

Hey kids, I've actually got some pretty bad news for you. I've decided I don't like your faces anymore and because I'm pretty busy this time of the year I can't remove them myself. So I have the lovely and mysterious 'Wonder EP' which I assure you, will reduce your face and probably the rest of your beings to ash/or melty goo.
These is serious business dubstep and needs to be handled as such. The link is to a mediafire download, and the file is in a .zip format so you'll need winrar or winzip to open it, then drag and drop the .mp3s into itunes or wherever you happen to keep your stash of wubs.
Wear a helmet in case your raging compels you to ram your noggin against a deciduous tree until it's a wobbley paste.

Happy Halloween!

This hopefully won't be the last post I make concerning Figure for the spookiest holiday of the year - but I've saved his two most recent bass concoctions for the night before Halloween. A drumstep remix 'This is Halloween' from Tim Burton's 'Nightmare Before Christmas' and a downright stimulating moombahcore remix of 'Halloween' by The Misfits.
Happy Halloween to all my bass-heads out there! Remember to show Figure appreciation for all of his fantastic free tracks by finding him on Facebook and sharing his sounds!

Skrillex and Avicii

Well it certainly has been some time! I've been incredibly busy lately and I've had to prioritize alot but don't ever think I'd forget about you guys. For a while there was a bit of a drought in the EDM world but I've found some new (unreleased) snacks the past week and I've had a couple that I've been sitting on for some time and it seems like more than appropriate timing to reveal them.
Skrillex has been insanely busy lately with his mothership tour and he's booked for basically the next century but SOMEHOW he has found the time to cook up a handful of pretty great tracks but not the time to release them. Now, I like these songs alot but I really do expect more out of Sonny - but I'm going to chalk it up to him being so busy. The only song I'm sharing (for now) is 'Syndicate' which is the theme for a new FPS game of the same name being released by EA (which I will buy for its soundtrack, as I did Mortal Kombat 9 which also featured Skrillex).
That other song I'm sharing is not by Skrillex but actually Avicii who is almost his opposite. It's recently surfaced on the web and the title is unsure and so the track has for now been dubbed 'ID2' (referring to how 'Levels' was called 'ID' until Avicii officially revealed the tracks title) and much like 'Levels' I can tell you right now that this is going to be a MASSIVE tune. The preview I have here isn't high quality and I'm not even sure if it's complete but I absolutely LOVE it.
Be sure to check out Skrillex and Avicii on facebook and show them some love for the excellent work!

RAGERS VOLUME II

I woke up this morning and stubbed my toe on the way to breakfast, and I couldn't be more ready to jump around and lose it to crazy electronic music. I hope you feel the same because I'm about to hurl tracks at you that very easily might cause you to take on an adult Siberian tiger using only your teeth, and so long as you are listening to these songs I guarantee you will defeat the tiger. Also as a quick note I'm going to use hulkshare now so that I can share even more music with you guys and all of it can be downloaded. Give me feedback.

It's finally out! Figure has released his second volume of 'Monsters of Drumstep' and it's mindblowing. Be careful not to have a heart attack listening to these tracks, which can be found exclusively on beatport for the moment. The pack includes Figure's original tracks 'The Mummy', 'Boogie man', 'Mr. Hyde', and my personal favorite 'Leatherface', and also features remixes by Oblivion, Captain Panic!, and The Killabits.
